About Benefits Wayfinder

What is Benefits Wayfinder?

Benefits Wayfinder is a national online tool that simplifies the search for government benefits for people seeking to increase their income and reduce their expenses.

Across Canada, government benefits exist at the federal, provincial, territorial, and in some cases regional or municipal levels. Navigating these programs can be complex and overwhelming.

Benefits Wayfinder presents benefit information in plain language and helps individuals identify programs they may qualify for. It supports people on low and modest incomes and can be used independently or alongside a community agency worker.

The platform aggregates and maintains information from:

  • Federal government programs
  • All Canadian provinces and territories
  • Participating regional and municipal programs

Content is reviewed and updated on an ongoing basis to reflect program changes and evolving eligibility criteria.

National Coverage & Collaboration
Benefits Wayfinder includes federal, provincial, and territorial government benefits across Canada.
Prosper Canada is currently engaging with:
  • Waterloo
  • Edmonton
  • Calgary
These municipalities are collaborating with Prosper Canada on local implementation and content engagement. Additional federal, provincial, territorial, and regional partners are welcome to contribute subject-matter expertise and updates.

How Governments and Agencies Can Participate

Benefits Wayfinder is designed to be collaborative. Government departments, ministries, and agencies that administer or specialize in specific benefits are encouraged to:

  • Review and suggest updates to benefit descriptions
  • Flag eligibility or policy changes
  • Clarify application processes
  • Share subject-matter expertise

All updates follow a structured editorial workflow to ensure accuracy, consistency, and transparency.
